動詞admit的用法 1. 表示“承認”，注意以下用法：(1) 一般為及物動詞，直接跟賓語；表示向某人承認用介詞 to：He admitted his mistake. 他承認了他的錯誤。He admitted to theteacher that he was wrong. 他向老師承認他錯了。This meant admitting defeat. 這就意味著承認失敗了。但有時也用作不及物動詞，此時一般后接介詞 to：He admitted to the murder. 他供認了謀殺罪。He admitted to the murd.5pt; FONT-FAMILY: 'Times New Roman'; mso-hansi-font-family: 宋體">He admitted to having takenthe money. 他承認拿了那筆錢。由于 admit 表示“承認”可用作及物動詞或不及物動詞，所以上面各例中的介詞 to 有時也可省略。(2) (2)后接動詞時，要用動名詞而不用不定式：She admitted havingread the letter. 她承認讀過這封信。I admit breaking thewindow. 我承認打破了窗子。(3) 可后接帶不定式的復(fù)合賓語，但其中的不定式通常應(yīng)是 to be：They admitted him to be mad. 他們承認他瘋了。You must admitthe task to be difficult. 你們得承認任務(wù)是艱巨的。偶爾接其它形式的復(fù)合賓語：He admitted himself a failure. 他承認失敗。He admitted himself beaten. 他承認輸了。(4) 有時用于插入語中：This, I admit, was wrong. 我承認這錯了。2. 表示“允許進入”、“使能進入(1) 通常只用作及物動詞：This ticket admits one person only. 此券只準一人入場。/ There were no windows to admit air. 沒有窗子可使空氣流入?？捎糜谝炅x，表示允許進入某一組織、機構(gòu)、學校、團體等：They admitted him to [into] their organization. 他們接受他參加了他們T-SIZE: 10.5pt; FONT-FAMILY: 'Times New Roman'">They admitted him to [into] their organ的組織。/ How many students have been admitted intothe school this year? 今年這所學校有多少學生入學?試比較 (注意介詞不同)：He was admitted to [into] the Party. 他被吸收入黨。He was admitted as a Party member. 他被接納為黨員。(2) 往往含有動態(tài)意味，所以一般不與 enter, go in 之類的詞連用：他打開門讓我進了屋。正：He opened the door and admitted me into the house. 誤：He opened the door and admitted me to enter into the house. 3. 用于 admit of, 意為“容許”、“有…的可能”、“有…的余地” (此時句子主語通常是物而不是人)：The matter admits of no delay. 這事刻不容緩。The word admits of no other meaning in the case. 這個詞在此例中不可能有別的意思。4. 派生詞admission的用法No admission without tickets. 無票不準進入。Admissionto [into] the school is by examination only. 進入該校學習必須通過考試。He made an admission that he was a thief. 他供認他是小偷。
