15. 此洞深三米。
正：The hole is three metres deep.
誤：The hole is three metre deep.
析：名詞短語threemetres用作狀語修飾形容詞deep，數(shù)次后面表示度量的名詞按習慣用復數(shù)形式。如：
It is nearly 5000 years old.
但是，當數(shù)詞+度量詞+形容詞組成一個合成詞，放在里一個名詞前作定語時，那個表示度量的名詞習慣上用單數(shù)。如：a six-metre-deep-hole一個六米深的洞，aten-story-high-building一棟十層高的樓房。
16. 王宏和馬國都是男老師。
正：Wang Hongand Ma Guo are men teachers.
誤：Wang Hongand Ma Guo are man teachers.
析：man和woman 用作定語時，表示性別其單數(shù)形式修飾單數(shù)可數(shù)名詞，復數(shù)形式修飾復數(shù)可數(shù)名詞。如：a man doctor一位男醫(yī)生，three men doctors三位男醫(yī)生，a woman nurse一位女護士，three women nurses三位女護士。
17. 螞蟻身體里有兩個胃。
正：The ant hastwo stomachs in its body.
誤：The ant hastwo stomaches in its body.
析： stomach雖然是以ch 結尾，但其復數(shù)形式不加es，而直接加s。而遵守名詞變復數(shù)的規(guī)則的則要加es.如：branch—branches樹枝, bench—benches長凳, watch—watches手表。
18. 我到那里用了一個半小時。
正：It took meone and a half hours to get there.
誤：It took meone and a half hour to get there.
析：英語中多于一個，即使不夠二，也要用復數(shù)。如：one and a half years一年半。
