中文中我們常常會(huì)用“藍(lán)顏知己”來表示與自己親密無間但又沒有戀愛關(guān)系的朋友，而“夢中情人”則是心儀的對象啦！在英語的日?？谡Z中（特別是美國俚語中）也有類似的表達(dá)。其中有些相當(dāng)口語化，十分地道。
比如"homey"，它是從"homeboy "演變過來的。拆開來看"home"是"家"的意思，"boy"是男孩的意思，合起來的意思也不難猜，"homeboy "指的是"從家鄉(xiāng)來的老朋友"或者"老鄰居"。這說法最初多見與美國黑人中間。但現(xiàn)代美國青年不但將兩個(gè)詞壓縮，而且把意思也改了，"homey"變成了老朋友的意思，而且一般都指男性密友，屬于那種沒有戀愛關(guān)系，但又親密無間的好友，類似與中文的"藍(lán)顏知己"的用法。比如說"Hey, homey, what's up?"（嘿，老朋友，怎么樣了？）。
還有一個(gè)詞"dude"在美國年輕人中也很常用，是朋友間表示隨意和親昵的稱呼。以前它多指男士，現(xiàn)在很多女孩子也相互稱呼"dude"了。有時(shí)候，有人拿"dude"當(dāng)作語氣詞用，注意這里的"u"要發(fā)長音，就相當(dāng)于"wow"。
另外一個(gè)美國年輕人交友常用的詞是"crush"。比如" He has a huge crush on her."不能理解成"他狠狠地?cái)D壓她"，這里"crush"不是擠壓的意思，而是當(dāng)作"喜歡，暗戀"講，尤其指異性之間浪漫青澀的感情。成熟的戀情則要用"love"而不能用"crush"了。"crush"既能當(dāng)動(dòng)詞又能當(dāng)名詞。例如"Before we went out, I had a crush on him for almost a year!"（開始交往之前，我偷偷喜歡他一年了?。?crush"當(dāng)名詞也可指暗戀的人，即"夢中情人"。例如"My heart broke when I found out my crush was seeing another person!"（聽說我的夢中情人在和別人約會(huì)，我傷心極了。）
