Consumer group to fast food chains: Respect C...
In light of fraud and quality problems in some Western fast foods, including Ajisen Ramen, McDonald's and KFC, China Consumers' Association on Aug. 5 called on all Western fast food companies to respect Chinese consumers.
China Consumers' Association takes a clear-cut stand and said the right to know is the basis of independent choices and fair trade for consumers. Thanks to Chinese consumers' trust and support, Western fast foods can acquire a fairly large market share in China.
As the operators of famous multinational enterprises, they should uphold the idea that the customer is king, obey China's relevant laws and regulations strictly and operate with good faith. Any enterprises that conduct false and misleading propaganda will alienate vast amounts of Chinese consumers and finally lose market competitiveness in China.
Moreover, the China Consumers' Association calls on related government departments to perfect regulations on the food service business in order to protect consumers' right to security and right to know as well as provide strong evidence for market supervision.
