After his father was diagnosed with leukemia in October 2014, Shuangyi, a 10-year-old schoolboy in Tonggu County, decided to collect recyclable wastes and sell them for money in order to save his father, who thought of giving up treatment because of high medical costs. His filial deeds caught extensive attention when pictures of him collecting wastes spread on the Internet. 莫雙熠是銅鼓二小五（2）班學(xué)生。他原本有一個幸福的家：爸爸勤勞、媽媽善良、奶奶慈祥、弟弟可愛。2014年10月底，在廣東中山務(wù)工的爸爸被查出患有白血病，之后赴空軍總醫(yī)院治療，媽媽前往照顧爸爸。這個家庭在巨額醫(yī)療費用面前陷入困境。
面對困境，年僅10歲的莫雙熠選擇堅強與自立：他主動承擔(dān)家務(wù)活，拖地，做飯，洗菜，洗碗，照顧年邁的奶奶，照顧幼小的弟弟；他利用周末時間撿拾廢品六七百斤之多，用來補貼家用。他說：“我要好好讀書，照顧好婆婆（奶奶）和弟弟，不讓爸爸操心。這樣爸爸才能安心治病，才能早日康復(fù)，才能早日回家和我們團聚！”
a撿廢品賣廢品，家務(wù)活他樣樣都會
2014年12月27日，周六。早上6:40，莫雙熠就起了床。他洗漱之后，打開液化氣灶，煮了3碗面條。
早餐后，奶奶要去洗碗，被莫雙熠拖住了?！澳棠?，您身體不好，還是我來吧。”奶奶今年80歲，前幾年動過手術(shù)，身體一直不好。莫雙熠系上圍巾，把早餐用過的碗筷洗干凈。
莫雙熠一手拿著一只火鉗、一手拿著蛇皮袋，沿著銅鼓縣城環(huán)城北路往前走。在老汽車站后面的一個垃圾池里，他用火鉗夾起不少紙杯、易拉罐；在另外一個垃圾房里，他用火鉗翻動著垃圾，找到一些廢紙。沿路有不少的垃圾桶，在每一個垃圾桶前，他都踮起腳跟，努力去尋找垃圾桶中有價值的廢品。垃圾桶比較高，他用火鉗去夾起桶中的廢品時，臉都貼著垃圾桶的桶沿。
在豐潤花園小區(qū)，一位居民問起他的身世。得知情況后，打開車庫門，把里面的100多斤廢品全部送給了他，還幫忙攔下一輛送貨的三輪車，讓司機幫莫雙熠把廢品運回家。
回到家，莫雙熠淘米做飯，洗菜、切菜。中飯后，他陪3歲的弟弟玩“積木”。所謂“積木”，是一副舊麻將，是一個周末莫雙熠在撿拾廢品時撿來的。
中飯后，莫雙熠將撿來的廢品進行分類：易拉罐、礦泉水瓶子、紙杯、奶盒等東西用蛇皮袋裝好，紙殼、書本之類的，用繩子捆好。
下午3:00，他用木棍挑了兩捆紙殼到廢品店去賣。他家住在老印刷廠宿舍，穿過定江路，走過西湖大橋，穿過木材大市場，再往西，足足有一公里。他挑著兩捆紙殼，一路上跌跌撞撞，幾次差點碰到路人。稱過重，21斤紙殼，0.3元一斤，一共6.3元，老板娘給了他7塊錢。接著，他又回到家用木棍挑了一擔(dān)紙殼去賣，這一次只有11斤，3.3元，老板娘給了他10塊錢。
晚飯后，他洗好碗筷，拖過地，又打水幫弟弟洗腳。
b照顧奶奶和弟弟，他成了家里的頂梁柱
莫雙熠的父親莫文鋒原來一直居住在高橋鄉(xiāng)高橋村。為了給后代一個良好的教育環(huán)境，在結(jié)婚前夕，他在縣城老印刷廠宿舍買了一套二手房。莫雙熠出生之后，夫妻兩人一直在外面打工。3年前，老二出生后，母親才留在家中照顧老人和一雙兒子。
自從去年10月底爸爸被查出患白血病以后，莫雙熠在日記中寫道：“……我一定要好好學(xué)習(xí)，同時也要照顧好婆婆和弟弟哦，不讓爸爸操心。這樣爸爸才能安心治病，才能早日康復(fù)，才能早日回家和我們團聚！”
得知爸爸需要60萬元手術(shù)費，莫雙熠打電話問媽媽：“家里有多少錢？”媽媽告訴他，只有零頭。他沉默了好久，然后告訴媽媽：“從明天起，我利用周末時間去撿廢品，幫家里減輕一點負擔(dān)?！?div style="height:15px;">
自2014年11月初開始，每個周末，人們都能看到莫雙熠手持火鉗、背著蛇皮袋，在縣城的大街小巷轉(zhuǎn)悠。很多小店的老板知道他的事情，就直接把店里的廢品送給他。一個多月下來，他撿拾的廢品已經(jīng)把一個8平方米的雜物間堆得滿滿的，一樓扶梯腳下還堆了100多斤。
“不管下雨還是天晴，莫雙熠每到周末都去撿廢品，從來沒有間斷過。有幾天特別冷，他的手凍得像包子一樣?！编従油趵习逭f。
2014年12月3日，莫雙熠賣廢品賣了20.6元。他在日記中寫道：“親愛的爸爸，你知道嗎？我撿廢品已經(jīng)攢了36.6元了，雖然離60萬元還有像從這里到北京那么遙遠的距離，但我一定不會放棄的，所以你也要有信心哦。老爸，加油！”日記的末尾，他還畫上了一張笑臉。
2014年11月8日，奶奶患了重感冒，什么都不想吃。莫雙熠給她煮了兩個雞蛋，又到藥房去給奶奶買了感冒藥。那幾天，一日三餐的飯全部都是他做的，弟弟都是他照顧。每天要等弟弟睡了以后才能去做作業(yè)，每天10點以后才能睡覺。姑姑莫鳳娥心疼地說。
