1.2 Upgrade prerequisite
The C8500 handset software should be updated with the SD card.

2 Upgrade preparation
2.1 Check current upgrade environment
SD card update: Make sure that the SD card is available and can be read and write.

2.2 Get and check the software package
Note . Copy the dload folder to SD card, after copying, the directory is /sdcard/dload/
3 Upgrade operations
Notes 1: Upgrade operations will erase the user data. Upgrade main package,.
3.1 Main package upgrade
Step 1. A SD card of 256MB or more should be available. The SD card made by
Sandisk, Kingstone, or Kingmax is recommended.
Step 2. Format the SD card (This operation is optional).
Step 3. Unzip the customized package HC1C850M01V100R001C92B273.zip (right click
your mouse and select ‘Extract here’).
Step 4. Obtain the unzipped file (subdirectory: \dload\*.*) to be upgraded
Step 5. Copy the entire dload folder (with UPDATA.APP in it) to the root directory of
the SD card.
Step 6. Make sure your handset is power off. Insert the SD card into the handset.
Pressing the END key and VOLUME UP key, and then press the POWER key to
power on the phone and enter the Software Upgrade Mode.
Note: The battery should have the enough power in the upgrading progress.
The follow steps are same with the main package upgrade at the chapter 3.1.
4 Upgrade validate

4.2 Basic function check
Switch on the handset, enter the idle screen, input a dial number and make a voice
call, then long press the power key to power off the handset.

To make sure that the power of the battery is enough to run the upgrade process.
Maybe you can connect the handset with the charger or the USB data cable to provide
power.
