一、畢業(yè)論文的選題原則
1 ．選題應符合專業(yè)培養(yǎng)目標，體現(xiàn)學科、專業(yè)特點和教學計劃的基本要求，達到畢業(yè)論文綜合訓練的目的。
2 ．選題應符合本學科的理論發(fā)展，有一定的學術意義；課題應盡量結合社會實際和教學實際，選擇能綜合反映本專業(yè)的基本理論、基礎知識和基本技能、具有一定研究價值和實際價值的課題。
3 ．選題應規(guī)模恰當，難易度適中，有一定的科學性。選題不僅能反映學生對所學知識的基本掌握與應用，而且能體現(xiàn)學生對所學知識的進一步深化與提高，使學生在撰寫論文的過程中逐步掌握科學的研究方法。
4 ．學生可選擇跨系或文理結合的課題，但應提出中請報告，由系領導根據(jù)課題的研究方向和內容對其可行性進行審批。
二、畢業(yè)論文的要求
1 ．畢業(yè)論文應用英語寫作，字數(shù)為5000 一6000 個單詞。
2 ．畢業(yè)論文撰寫應通過選題、初稿、修改稿和定稿的寫作過程。
3 ．畢業(yè)論文應獨立完成，可參考他人研究成果，但必須注明出處，不得抄襲，更不能從網(wǎng)上下載。對抄襲、拼湊、下載的論文一律以零分計。
4 ．畢業(yè)論文應符合學術論文的基本要求。論文的格式和各種資料的引用以《 MLA 科研論文寫作規(guī)范》為標準。
5 ．畢業(yè)論文應包括（1 ）封面（2 ）論文目錄（3 ）中英文摘要及關鍵詞（4 ）前言（5 ) 論文本體（6 ）結束語（7 ）注釋和參考書目。（詳見附錄一）
6 ．論文用電腦打印，并裝訂成冊。
7 ．所有論文都應進行答辯。
三、畢業(yè)論文指導教師職責
指導教師應由講師以上（含講師）職稱、在教學和科研上有較豐富經(jīng)驗、認真負責的老師擔任。每位指導教師指導的學生一般不能超過十人。指導教師的職責如下：
1 ．負責指導學生選題，與學生一起認真做好選題的可行性論證，指導學生制定寫作提綱，確定寫作步驟，安排計劃進度，完成開題報告。
2 ．指導學生研究課題，給學生提供參考資料和相關文獻。
3 ．耐心指導學生，對學生的論文質量嚴格把關，并對所指導的畢業(yè)論文的質量及撰寫情況作出評定。
4 ．嚴格把握論文答辯質量，對答辯中確實沒有達到要求的學生進行第二次答辯，如果還沒有達到要求，則不予通過。
四、畢業(yè)論文的時間安排
1 ．第七學期初教育實習結束后的第一周開設以“怎樣撰寫畢業(yè)論文”為主題的專題講座（包括：語言學、教學法、文學、翻譯、經(jīng)貿方同）；同時，對學生進行文獻檢索、論文寫作規(guī)范的培訓。
2 ．十月份學生確定選題，并分配好指導教師。
3 ．十一月份學生向指導教師提交較為詳細的論文提綱，完成開題報告。
4 ．十二月份至下年二月份學生在老師的指導下進行論文初稿的撰寫。
5 ．二月底學生向指導教師提交初稿。
6 ．三月份學生在教師的指導下進行論文的修改。
7 ．四月初學生向指導教師提交第二稿。
8 ．四月份的第三周學生向指導教師提交最終定稿。
9 ．四月底對合格的論文進行答辯。
10 ．五月份的第二周對第一次沒有通過答辯的論文進行第二次答辯。
五、畢業(yè)論文的成績評定

六、其他
1 ．經(jīng)有關專家鑒定，對有較高學術價值或實用價值的畢業(yè)論文，給予一定的獎勵，并推薦到有關刊物上發(fā)表。
2 ．對優(yōu)秀畢業(yè)論文存檔并編印成冊。
附錄一
湖南師范大學外語學院本科畢業(yè)論文格式要求
1 ．封面
封面內容包括：論文的中文題目、作者姓名、院系、專業(yè)、指導教師姓名以及完成論文的時間。
2 ．論文目錄
3 ．摘要
中、英文摘要各300 字左右，關鍵詞三至五個。摘要應精練，準確地概括全文中心。
4 ．論文本體
論文結構以多級標題形成，例如：
