Desheng School (International) Chamber Choir held our concert on 21st March 2021. Titled “With Heart and Voice”, the concert was a milestone in Desheng School (International) as it was our first full-length concert since we started four years ago in 2017 by our choir master and music teacher, Mr. Clarence Tan.
We were also privileged to invite our partners DSI String Orchestra and the award-winning Sound of the Season Choir from our Desheng Primary School, to perform with us, closing in the ties between both outstanding institutions from the Desheng Education Group. These talented musical groups brought with them their unique characters, lending color to “With Heart and Voice”.
Desheng Primary School
“With Heart and Voice” is a C.A.S. project by our IB students in the choir. C.A.S., short for Creative, Activity and Service, is an important and core component of every IB student’s journey in their pursuit for holistic education. The programme allows students to explore the meaning of life through understanding and developing of self, and through service to the community and society.

Our IB seniors worked tirelessly with Mr. Tan on the organising of the concert, from logistics to programming, bringing to our audience a unique programme that is innovative, inclusive and interactive.
One highlight from the concert is a work by Singaporean composer Lu Heng. In his work, instead of using the conventional way of expressing joy and happiness through words and beautiful melodies, he blatantly expressed these feelings in their rawest form; laughter. Lu Heng’s “Laughter Propaganda” was the highlight of the evening.
The rehearsing and performing of “Laughter Propaganda” was not without challenges. We had to ask ourselves: 'How can we laugh at will? How can we move together? How are we going to interact with our friends? Lastly, How will my friends view me after seeing me laughing like this?”
To all our queries and difficulties, Mr. Tan always has one thing to say: “Your friends will definitely laugh. But as friends, they will laugh with you and not at you”. Quoting Ms. Seraphina Chong from her little sharing over Wechat Moments on our performance, “Laughter is the shortest distance between two persons. And for one night, DSI laughed together as a family”.
The concert ended not before our Grade 12 seniors handed over their leadership and duties to the incoming committee. We wish our Grade 12 seniors Finwon Wu, Jason Zhang, Lena Zhang and Erica Yang all the best for their upcoming IB Examinations and thank you for your dedication and for not giving up on us.

2021年3月21日，德勝學校（國際）室內(nèi)合唱團在校內(nèi)舉辦了“樂由心聲”合唱晚會。本次晚會是由德勝學校（國際）的音樂老師、合唱團指導(dǎo)老師——陳德明老師主持的。本次合唱晚會是德勝（國際）自2017年成立以來第一場正式合唱晚會，是一個重要的里程碑。
本次晚會很榮幸地邀請到了德勝學校（國際）弦樂團和屢獲殊榮的德勝小學四季之聲合唱團作為特邀嘉賓進行表演。這些才華橫溢的小音樂家各司其職，為本次合唱晚會增添了許多色彩。同時，本次晚會也成為了德勝國際與德勝小學藝術(shù)交流的重要橋梁。

“樂由心聲”合唱晚會是德勝學校（國際）室內(nèi)合唱團的IB學生的CAS項目之一，CAS也是IBDP課程的核心課程之一。C代表Creative（創(chuàng)新）、A代表Activity (活動)、S代表了Service（服務(wù)）。在學習的過程中，學生們在從廣泛的實踐和服務(wù)社會等多樣體驗中，不斷探索生命的意義，同時發(fā)掘并培養(yǎng)自己的特長，進而培養(yǎng)學生健全的人格。

從臺前到幕后，合唱團全體成員與陳老師一起緊鑼密鼓地籌備了很長時間，期待著可以為觀眾帶來獨特的視聽體驗。這場充滿包容性和互動性的晚會，同樣與德勝國際包容和關(guān)愛的理念，不謀而合。
一首由新加坡作曲家陸恒（音譯）創(chuàng)作的歌曲將此次晚會推進了高潮。在這首歌曲中，作者采用新穎的舞臺呈現(xiàn)方式，通過動人的歌詞和優(yōu)美的旋律表達了人生中那些難得的喜悅。在歌曲中，他使用了最原始的方式去傳遞快樂——那就是“笑聲”。陸恒對“笑聲”的全新定義，讓觀眾記憶猶新。
在這首歌曲的排練中，我們克服了種種困難，比如如何在舞臺上持久地保持笑容，怎樣做到全體一同大笑怎么做可以更好地和觀眾去互動。
在彩排中，陳老師一直在鼓勵大家：“我們的朋友也一定會被我們的笑而感染，一定會為你們的笑容所感動！” 當晚，德勝國際助理校長鐘淑儀女士，也在微信朋友圈稱贊道：“笑拉近了每個人的距離?！?德勝學校（國際）大家庭其樂融融，度過了美好的夜晚。
在晚會的最后，12年級合唱團委員會與新一屆成員進行了神圣的交接儀式。在此，合唱團的新晉成員們祝愿十二年級的合唱團學長、學姐：伍一、張弛、張子菁和楊競璇等“前輩”，IBDP考試順利，衷心地感謝你們這些年對合唱團所作的貢獻。

本次晚會的壓軸嘉賓是德勝學校（國際）前合唱團成員羅澤康，他在晚會結(jié)和合唱團成員們一起進行了精彩的表演?？梢哉f，這場晚會的成功舉辦，同樣和合唱團的各位前輩的辛勤付出，是分不開的！
