1. 第一句中，“長(zhǎng)江從青藏高原蜿蜒流入東海”可以用非謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞作狀語(yǔ)，其后的為句子主干。那“蜿蜒”怎么說(shuō)呢？從地圖上看河道是不是像蛇一樣，bingo，就是snake， “蛇”這個(gè)詞作動(dòng)詞就有“迂回前進(jìn)”的意思。
2. 注意幾分之幾的表達(dá)，“五分之一”，one fifth；“三分之一”，one third。
3. 千百年來(lái)，長(zhǎng)江作出了貢獻(xiàn)，此句應(yīng)該使用完成時(shí)態(tài)，因?yàn)閺倪^(guò)去就開(kāi)始貢獻(xiàn)，貢獻(xiàn)到現(xiàn)在嘛。
4. 第四句可用被動(dòng)語(yǔ)態(tài)，把沒(méi)有具體所指的主語(yǔ)“人們”規(guī)避掉。
5. 最后一句成分復(fù)雜，可以強(qiáng)調(diào)“兩項(xiàng)重大工程被中國(guó)政府實(shí)施”，two massive public projects…are carried out by Chinese government，哪兩項(xiàng)呢？用同位語(yǔ)成分作插入語(yǔ)加在projects后。

It is an undeniable fact that scientific and technological developments bring great benefits to people. But I think that the loss of our traditional culture is too high a price to pay for this.
科學(xué)技術(shù)的發(fā)展為人類(lèi)帶來(lái)了巨大的好處，這一點(diǎn)毋庸置疑。但是我認(rèn)為因此而失去傳統(tǒng)文化是一個(gè)太高的代價(jià)。
In the first place, our culture has formed the customs and values of our people for centuries. A comfortable but spiritually empty life, without the traditional bonds of kinship and friendship, would not be worth living.
首先，我們的文化幾百年來(lái)已經(jīng)形成了自己的風(fēng)俗習(xí)慣和價(jià)值觀念。舒適安逸而精神空虛的生活由于缺乏親情和友情是不值得享受的。
Secondly, it is obvious that people are anxious to preserve their culture. The culture is familiar to people. For instance, Chinese people who use computers and cars during the day sit down to watch Peking Opera and eat traditional food in the evening. Especially when people move to other countries they become homesick and form national culture societies.

Last but not least, we should make science and technology serve traditional culture. This can be done by making festivals and other culture occasions more widely known, using developments in telecommunications, such as e-mail.
In conclusion, I think we should never allow science and technology to dazzle our eyes so that we lose sight of our cultural values. On the contrary, we should use the discoveries of science and technology to reinforce our fine cultural traditions. Let science and technology and traditional culture develop at the same time.
