The infographic, which was published by MBA Programs Info, suggests that if an Internet user was online 24 hours per day, they would spend 2 hours, 18 minutes of that time on Facebook, compared to 1 hour, 45 minutes on Google. Facebook receives slightly more revenue each time a user clicks on one of its ads than Google does for ad clicks, with 55 cents each time compared to Google’s 54 cents.
Facebook
However, Google is far ahead of Facebook when it comes to user numbers and revenue. Google has 1 billion users compared to Facebook’s 600 million, according to the infographic (Facebook’s user base is now closer to 700 million, but Google is still far ahead), while Google earned $29 billion in 2010 compared to Facebook’s estimated $2 billion.
It should be pointed out that Google has been around for 6 years longer than Facebook but the social network is becoming more and more popular. The infographic gives a good comparison of the two companies, who are not on the best of terms. Last month, Facebook hired a PR firm to smear Google in the press, while the social network has allowed Google’s search rival Bing to use its data in personalized search results.
