21-25 ADBAC  26-30 ACBAB  31-35 DCDBC
解答:此題考察another, the other, other, other's的形容詞用法區(qū)別。other一般不單獨使用,其前經(jīng)常有冠詞或其他形容詞,如B選項的the other,one...the other..,用于一個整體的兩部分“一個……
so that譯為“以便”表示目的,although譯為“盡管,雖然”,as if譯為“好像”,while譯為“當….
解答:此題考察so…as….
非謂語動詞做狀語,首先判斷動詞與所修飾名詞的主動還是被動關(guān)系,borrow和maps是被動關(guān)系,被動關(guān)系時非謂語動詞形式有三種: to be done, being done, done,to be done表示動作將要發(fā)生,being done表示動作正在發(fā)生,done表示用作已經(jīng)完成,根據(jù)句意borrow的動作已經(jīng)完成,因此選擇C。
Will you用于請求第三者的同意,Why not譯為“為什么不去做……”用于向別人提建議,I hope so譯為“我也希望是這樣”,I am afraid not譯為恐怕不行,根據(jù)句意選擇D。
be to do譯為“將會將要”,was to be made表示過去將來。
no wonder“不足為奇”,well done譯為“做得好”,not really譯為“事實上沒有”, “Go ahead”譯為“做吧”。

36-40 CDBCD  41-45 AABDB  46-50 CACDB  51-55 ACABD
40. D not
41. A turn up  解析:詞組,表示“出現(xiàn)”的意思。 B. show off 是“炫耀”的意思。
D happen to do“碰巧做某事”。
49. D still 解析:表示狀態(tài)的持續(xù),B. then 表示時間先后,C. thus 表示因果。

EDGEWOOD—Every morning at Dixie Heights High school, customers pour into a special experiment :the district’s first coffee shop run mostly by students with special learning needs.
Well before classes start, students and teachers order Lattes, Cappuccinos and Hot Chocolates. Then, during the first period, teachers call in orders on their room phones, and students make deliveries.
By closing time at 9.20 a.m. , the shop usually sells 90drinks.

Science can't explain the power of pets, but many studies have shown that the company of pets can help lower blood pressure (血壓) and raise chances of recovering from a heart attack, reduce loneliness and spread all-round good cheer.

Subjects completed the tasks alone, with a husband/wife, a close friend or with a pet. People with pets did
It best .Those tested with their animal friends had smaller change in blood pressure and returned.
Most quickly to baseline heart rates .With pets in the room ,people also made fewer math mistakes.Than when doing in front of other companions. It seems people feel more released (放松)around Pets, says Allen, who thinks it may be because pets don’t judge.

There were smiling children all the way. Charily they knew at what time the train passed their homes and they made it their business to stand along the railway, wave to complete strangers and cheer them up as they rushed towards Penang. Often whole families stood outside their homes and waved and smiled as if those on the trains were their favorite relatives. This is the simple village people of Malaysia. I was moved.
I had always traveled to Malaysia by plane or car, so this was the first time I was on a train. I did not particularly relish the long train journey and had brought along a dozen magazines to read and reread. I looked about the train. There was not one familiar face. I sighed and sat down to read my Economics.
It was not long before the train was across the Causeway and in Malaysia. Johore Baru was just another city like Singapore, so I was tired of looking at the crowds of people as they hurried past. As we went beyond the city, I watched the straight rows of rubber trees and miles and miles of green. Then the first village came into sight, Immediately I came alive; I decided to wave hack.
From then on my journey became interesting. I threw my magazines into the waste basket and decided to join in Malaysian life. Then everything came alive. The mountains seemed to speak to me. Even the trees were smiling. I stared at everything as if I was looking at it for the first time.
The day passed fast and I even forgot to have my lunch until I felt hungry. I looked at my watch and was surprised that it was 3:00 pm. Soon the train pulled up at Butterworth. I looked at the people all around me. They all looked beautiful. When my uncle arrived with a smile, I threw my arms around him to give him a warm hug (擁抱). I had never done this before. He seemed surprised and then his weather-beaten face warmed up with a huge smile. We walked arm in arm to his car.
I looked forward to the return journey.
