Several people asked how I found these sites. Basically it came down to being bored (and procrastinating doing actual work) and just googling google. Something like this, or this, but in modified and varied versions.
Nice found!!

Posted by nt at March 6, 2006 02:52 PMAbout the 3 billion pages indexed, look at the bottom of the page, copyright 2001. Probably just an old page...

there was news a while ago that google are allowing companies to make customized versions of the personalized home page for use by customers and employees
This is nothing more than a hosted home page for the employees/customers of http://www.currentgroup.com/ (an ISP specializing in BoPL)

Posted by Haochi at March 4, 2006 12:01 PMIs there a link between "Current Communications"
(http://www.google.com/ig/current) and "Ubuntu",
considering the similar Icons?
Lovely stuff! How did you find it all?
Posted by rAymond at March 4, 2006 10:22 AMThis officially seals the deal... you are a nerd!
Do you know all these other nerds that are commenting on your entry, or did they just randomly find your site while searching for "interesting break-down of the page index"?
Later!

If you notice on the language preferences page, they also offer klingon.
Note: I have never watched Star Trek.
Posted by c.todd at March 4, 2006 04:01 AMThe 3 Billion really seem to be a thing of the past. Try searching for something strange that does not exist: -af8flkdjsaf48ur ...
Posted by Gupeca at March 4, 2006 02:28 AMhttp://www.google.com/mozilla/google.xul2
Works fully in Mozilla Seamonkey which is the replacement for the old mozilla browser suite browser.
How can i use it in a Seamonkey sidebar?
Get Seamonkey

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=site%3Awww.google.com&btnG=Google+Search
Posted by scrow at March 4, 2006 12:21 AMJust a note, the .xul2 file is actually a sidebar for the old mozilla suite browser. It might still work in firefox, but the integrated search in the toolbar is much more convenient...
