作者簡介

（1924年杜魯門·卡波特出生于美國新奧爾良州，少時在南方各州生活，在新奧爾良過冬，在亞拉巴馬州和新佐治亞州度夏。畢業(yè)之后在《紐約客》打雜。1948年他的第一部小說“別的聲音，別的房間”出版，深受好評，從而奠定了卡波特在戰(zhàn)后美國文壇的地位。其它作品包括《草豎琴》（1951），《蒂凡尼早餐》（1958），《冷血》（1965），這些作品的出版曾一度飽受爭議。2004年，他的作品《給變色龍聽的音樂》（1980）和《應(yīng)許的祈禱》（1986）在紐約大賣，2005年，英國企鵝出版社第一次在英國出版他的小說。
