大約一年前，SHOWTIME 出了一部 5 集限定劇《Patrick Melrose》。該劇根據(jù)愛德華圣奧賓的同名自傳體小說改編。小說共五部，在電視劇版本中，每集與之相對應(yīng)，由大名鼎鼎的演技派卷福出演。劇中男主角 Patrick 童年飽受父親的傷害，母親對其遭遇也視而不見。這一切的不幸遭遇，致使他直到成年，也只能終日沉浸在痛苦中無法自拔，只能借由毒品酒精來麻痹自己。
劇集一開始，Patrick 收到了父親去世的消息，接著他決定開始戒毒，要徹底擺脫這個混蛋。影片的最后，Patrick 終于釋懷，回到了正常的生活。
這個時候，音樂響起，就是《Tender》。
《Tender》出自 blur 樂隊 1999 的專輯《13》。對于一個成立十年的樂隊來講，blur 已經(jīng)取得相當(dāng)不錯的成績。《Tender》由樂隊四位成員共同填詞，作為這張專輯中的第一首歌，卻實屬本張專輯中的一個很特別的存在。
